We Are!
Welcome to the website of Penn State's chapter of Global Human Rights Brigades. HRB (formerly known as Global Law Brigades) is a chapter of Global Brigades, the largest student-run sustainable development organization in the world. Members of HRB work with in-country lawyers and social workers to improve access to legal counsel, legal education, and human services in Panama's rural communities during 8-day trips throughout the year.
HRB is part of a holistic model of development. As a student organization on-campus, we work with the other Penn State GB chapters to discuss poverty, global health, and development, as well as to raise awareness of these issues. |
Recent Events
March 2013 Trip: During last spring break (March 2012), Human Rights Brigades went on its second trip to Panama. We worked with three lawyers in the community of Plantanilla in the Darien province. The trip was a GREAT success-- good job, Penn State HRB!
